It was supposed to be at 8pm and I turned into Zouk at 8pm sharp(very punctual by my standards haha)! Was raging at this cab driver in front of me, who stopped his cab to let a passenger alight in the VALET QUEUE. Only 1 lane omg. Still need to collect cabfare, give change, sibeh long zzz. It’s like SO hard to meet decent cab drivers in Singapore these days. All inconsiderate scumbags who don’t care abt the safety and driving ease of other motorists! I always rage them cos my first car accident was with a taxi(another story for another post). Bah.

So anyway, I got to Velvet Underground- Dance where the event was at and saw all these hot models in blue toga dresses holding iPads and showing people how the Clear.24.7 app works! Back at Velvet Underground- Dance where I was, the other influencers invited by Citibank to this event hadn’t turned up yet so I called Sofie, who’s the marketing and biz development manager at Zouk and a good friend of mine, to come accompany me first! She always gets us sweet girly drinks and brings us into the dj consoles and gets us awesome tables, always SUPER fun + get VVIP treatment when she’s around, and she’s super steady and sweet and easy-going and nice! Love her max! And she came to sit and chat with me and got me water, cho sweet one, bless her lil heart! X

I was given a Citibank LED light finger thingy by the Gushcloud girls who were managing me that day, so I played around with it. It’s got a bright blue light and says “Citibank Clear Platinum Card, Party with 5X Rewards”, damn cute so I started camwhoring with it while Sofie entertained the crowd that was fast filling Velvet!

Then the radio DJ Boy Thunder and dj Andrew T(they’re fellow influencers) got to Velvet and soon enough, the event started. George Young was the host and he was super great and bubbly and worked the crowd so well! At one point, he started mad dancing by himself when the spotlight was still on him, gotta love the damn not shy dude! Hahaha

Already met Wendy, Yutaki and Eric. I went to meet Wendy and SY at Tampines Mall when I touched down at Changi on Thursday night and niapped at Wendy’s house gossiping and playing with Igloo and watching YouTube videos of Dakota Rose debating if she did SHOP her VIDEOS(if she did, that girl is def mad man. But damn pretty la!). And last night, Yutaki, Eric, Sandy, Mel, Soph and Alaric and I watched Wrath of the Titans in 3D! Pretty good movie even though I didn’t watch part one! But the 3D effects so-so only, nothing compared to Avatar!

So now left Jun and Rykiel to meet! Guess where I’m meeting Jun tonight??? I’m dragging her to Zouk for the Citibank Clear Platinum Relaunch party! What most of you don’t know is that this snake is actually a coverup. Wendy and I and this other girl were very close for a while and we VERY spontaneously decided to go get a star tattoo right behind our right ear. Wendy still has her pink star; not sure about the other girl.

Due to personal reasons, I decided to cover the star up(Wendy and I are still friends; the decision didn’t have anything to do with her. In fact, she came with me to coverup the star and got her crown tattoo on the same day). We walked in, Wendy damn well-prepared, got her crown image all ready, and I just said I wanted to cover the star up. With ANYTHING.

The tattoo artist knew I had a panther tattoo already and asked if I like animals, I said, “Yes, I guess I don’t mind a zoo theme(fml I have no idea wtf I was thinking then).” He then proceeded to draw a snake freehand over the star. Initially it was a 2D image, kinda tribal I think. I didn’t like it and asked if he could make it more 3D/realistic. He did and I asked Wendy if it looked alright and she said yes.

So I ended up with this.

Not a bad job. Quite liked it. Had it on for several years. Most people then said it’s nice. But maybe cos the tattoo faded and/or I grew out of the wild child image and into Japanese kawaii style, it became less and less appealing, to me and virtually everyone else.

People started asking me why I did it, and I really had no solid reason to give other than I wanted to cover the star up, and they always replied, “With such a big snake??” Which was fine cos not only could I not be bothered with such comments, the snake was at the back of my neck, not noticeable to me unless I turn my body at an awkward angle to look at it.

What made me start to resent the snake was when I got fucked over by people I trusted and I don’t know why but every time I saw the snake, I would get reminded of it! It felt like an enemy snaking behind my back, an enemy I wasn’t aware of and trusted and hence turned my back towards and let my guard down with.

I started questioning why the fuck I would put a snake behind my back and all of the relevance it had to my life in recent years. It wasn’t that I got sick of the tattoo and decided it’s ugly; I still think it’s pretty decent(all of you who said it’s ugly, WHATEVER la.).

So yup, background story done. I’m in Malaysia now and my dear friend Brian introduced me to this bunch of tattoo artists from Borneo Ink. They appeared on LA Ink previously and are reportedly the best in the country and they are super famous(even Cheesie such a non-tattoo person heard of them when I mentioned it to her!).

They are soooo packed an appointment with them has to be made maybe 3, 4 WEEKS in advance, and that’s JUST to CONSULT. But cos Brian did like all his tatts with Lina(she’s the youngest sister; all of them are siblings), and I accompanied him there twice, they managed to slot me in when some guy cancelled his appointment!

And guess when this appointment was???

THE VERY NEXT DAY.

I was like “WTFOMGBBQ I don’t even know what to cover it up with!” Eddie, my tattoo artist(he’s the oldest of them and I’d like to think most experienced), told me there’s nothing much I can do about it if I don’t wanna do a giant one. He said, “See you tomorrow, we’ll work something out.”

DAFUQ??? It’s a coverup of a coverup, I CANNOT AFFORD TO FUCK IT UP.

I was kinda stressing back then and Brian kept reassuring me Eddie’s really the best and all that. But just imagine, no image/design AT ALL, TOMORROW TATTOO. Will you freak out or not???

Fast forward to the next day, le bf brought me to Borneo Ink and Eddie sat me down on a chair and started drawing. It felt kinda ticklish and I fooled around saying OUCH! every time the marker touched me. (The whole bunch of them, Eddie, Simon and Lina, are SUPER funny and such a riot. They always scold you and make sexual/sexist/gay jokes and are generally super rude and fierce hahaha. NOT for the faint-hearted. But I love them, every time I go there, I laugh till I wanna cry omg).

Then Eddie said, “Ok I’m done.” I looked in the mirror and saw this.

And then I realized he was serious and I panicked, thinking omg how am I gonna tell him I don’t want already?? He’s very fierce and I was so scared of offending him!

Now I REALLY wanna cry.

I think he saw I panicked a bit and he said, “These are the flowers and these are the buds.” in a nonchalant way. SIMI FLOWERS SIMI BUDS??? Look like orange/green rubbish!

Then he drew the image again. With a black marker this time.

Erm still the same rubbish eh. The leftover orange and green marker ink did nothing to make me feel better.

He said the flowers will have a magenta tinge. WTF is magenta??? In my head, it’s laosai purple lor. I damnnnn sad and emo and scared.

Haven’t start tattoo already cold sweat. But I remembered what Brian and Cheesie said about them, and saw all the work they did for all the people I met in the parlour the previous 2 times, and thought, “Aiya can’t be that bad la. Coverup what. Maybe my snake really too hopeless and this is the best it can be. No snake can already la. Beggars can’t be choosers.”

I kept psycho-ing myself with all these thoughts and only told him one thing, that I wanted the top part to be tapered. He said Ok and started tattoo-ing. I’m pretty ok with tattoo pain. It hurts but it’s very bearable for me, I was playing Scramble With Friends(btw if I don’t request to play again with you, it’s cos I have too many active games cos a lot of requests, NOT cos I don’t wanna play with you again. Just invite me ok?) and tweeting and looking at all the pics of Wendy, Qiu, Soph and Cheesie in Phuket.

Some parts hurt more than others but for this coverup, I didn’t even know when he switched from outlining to shading and coloring. Kinda all felt the same. A dull vibraty ache that was sometimes hot and sometimes sharp(eh I’m not a tattoo expert so don’t take my word for it, this is just how *I* feel about it). The ending part near my hairline and ear, I felt kinda high and my eyeballs were rolling and I started blushing lol.

Eddie: “Stop it, you’re creeping me out.”

He says all these jokes with such a deadpan nonchalance I couldn’t stop laughing. So awesome for distracting me from the ache of the tattoo.

And then he said this:

“I tattoo-ed a HIV-positive person before.”

This was near the end of my tattoo. PANIC AGAIN! This one really not funny eh!

He then reassured me and said it’s really hard to transmit HIV through tattoo needles cos they’re all properly sterilized, and HIV, which is a very fragile virus, doesn’t thrive for long outside the body and dies easily with soap or common detergents(Google if you don’t believe me!). I looked around then and saw of all the certs he has, he even has one for passing some course on NOT transmitting diseases through tattoo-ing! PRO max! (Also, his real name is Edward hahahha).

And a million crazy funny jokes since the start of my tattoo and 2 hours later, Eddie was done!

I was DYING to see it. I didn’t get up once throughout the tattoo so I really had zero clue how it looked like!

Le bf saw it sometime towards the end and said, “Omg the snake disappeared. Damn legit.” (He hated the snake and to him, the main point was to get it covered up.) But I’m obvsly vain and that was by no means an indication of whether the new tatt is NICE.

So I got him to take pics for me. It’s obvsly super red and sore and bleedy now BUT WOULD YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.

In the simplest of business models, the soundest theory would be that of producing a supply that meets a demand, and if you succeed in doing that, rightfully you will make a profit.

So how do you make a profit? You get your supply at the lowest price possible and sell it to meet the demand at the highest price possible. The difference would be your profit.

Say you buy a candy cane at $x, and your friend desperately wants it and is willing to pay you $(x+2) because she doesn’t know/care where to get it at $x. Your subsequent profit would be $(x+2) – $x= $2, correct?

So in a business, MAXIMIZING this very profit would be the aim, yes? Assuming you are a legit business and have overheads, like staff, rent, sourcing, travel, gas etc to cover, this $2 profit would count for very little EVEN if you were to sell 100 candy canes.

Even if I didn’t have ANY overheads(IMPOSSIBRUUU!), if I want to attain a profit of $10000, I need to sell 5000 candy canes to enough people who don’t know/care to source where to pay $x for a candy cane AND are willing to pay $(x+2) for one. Everyone with me?

Which brings me to the inspiration behind this post. This TROLL has been bitching on Twitter about the price of the products on KandyKayne, WHICH IS FINE cos everyone’s entitled to their own opinion on the value of stuff.

For example, if he had said, “KandyKayne products are pricey.” OR “Look! I found these breadcutters for so cheap!”, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE.

BUT he has been making comments on where else to get it cheaper IN COMPARISON to my .com. If he has say 100 followers and is just voicing out a harmless but informed opinion, I guess I wouldn’t be so pissed.

This imbecile is a has-been BLOGGER. He was Nuffnang’s Featured Blogger in Aug 2007(TROLOLOL talk about epic OVER?). If this asshole isn’t at all familiar to you, trust me, you are not alone. I, too, had no freaking clue who the fuck he is other than that his Twitter handle is vaguely familiar cos he replies my tweets in a friendly/non-offensive manner once in a while(fuckin 2-faced troll).

My sources tell me he got a lot of hits last time from Xiaxue when he trolled on her. I went to his blog yesterday and from a mostly unbiased POV, nothing there interests me. He’s not particularly good-looking nor funny nor interesting to say the least. I went there looking for his Twitter timeline(cos I blocked him) and found myself yawning in 5 mins.

So yes, I was all “Who DAFUQ is this person?” when my followers told me about his offensive tweets, and I got even more furious when I found out he is/was a blogger. He has 1474 Twitter followers(at last view). Significant to wreck some damage with his obtuse blabbering, I’d say.

I have just under 24k. I bitch and rant like mad BUT I DON’T FUCK WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S RICEBOWL, UNPROVOKED.

In all my travels to various parts of the world to get stock for KandyKayne, I’ve bumped into the owners/partners of online stores WAY bigger than KandyKayne. I am a blogger/Twitterer with a significant following. It would benefit KandyKayne indefinitely announcing I get my stock from the same suppliers as XXXX blogshops, some whose products are priced HIGHER than KandyKayne’s.

I don’t do it. Why? INTEGRITY. ETHICS.

I nod politely or pretend I never saw them, and I don’t breathe a word about it, especially not on a public domain. I move on with my life and them with theirs.

Everyone’s running a business. Everyone worked to get to where they are. Some more, some less, but I credit it to them. EVEN when certain blogshops undermined my business and COPIED MY STYLING AND UNDERCUT MY PRICES, I never exposed them. It’s unscrupulous, but it’s still work, it’s still business.

If I blogged/tweeted about other people’s business secrets/methods, or where to get a cheapER deal in comparison to the products these businesses are offering, it’s just plain unethical. ANY BUSINESS OWNER WOULD BE ANGRY.

I NEVER exposed any other business because I understood at least why they did what they did, underhandedly or not. But this troll is a fuckin graphics designer, WHAT DAFUQ is he doing this to me for???

ON TOP OF THAT, he is a fellow(it’s killing me to type this word, trust me) blogger, who JOLLY WELL KNOWS the repercussions of online disclosure, and he tweeted stuff like this:

I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE IT PERSONALLY.

Pretty free now, so I’d trouble myself to explain why this is so fucked up and ill-informed and detrimental.

So he says he can get the same product for “150 baht in BKK” (the fuckface listed a link to my .com as well), which according to today’s Thai baht to Singapore Dollar exchange rate, is SGD6.14. I do not doubt that. I imagine if I were a GIANT manufacturer of iphone cases and I have 50 factories producing these cases in copious quantities in triple quick time, I COULD sell at MUCH LESS than that.

Even if I were a just a supplier and have hundreds or thousands of these cases in every colour, I COULD SELL FOR LESS.

The problem of the matter is, I am NOT. I am just an online store owner, selling apparel and accessories to young/-ish girls ONE AT A TIME.

Let’s take the candy cane example I gave you all earlier. If I were the freaking manufacturerer/supplier of said candy canes at $x/candy cane, and I have 1,000,000 candy canes to distribute over 1000 locations to be sold at, I COULD sell at $(x+2) or even $(x+1) per candy cane AND still make a decent profit.

But again, I am not. I take it EXCLUSIVE and VERY LIMITED number of pieces per colour per design. Some of the items on KandyKayne, we only have 3-5 pieces each because of unavailable stock/limited budget. I’d be honest and say usually more, but YES we do bring in VERY small numbers.

Assuming I bring in 10 of those cases and sell all of them each at 150 baht, EVEN IF MY STOCK WAS TOTALLY FREE, I’d make 1500 baht. OR SGD61.40.

The factors you CAN see would be the number of tweets/blog posts I put in to hype about each product(people do unfollow ALL the time cos they get irritated by “spam”), the effort I put in to style and shoot each product, product description(EVERY WORD and PUNCTUATION is written by me), etc.

What you DON’T see are the air tickets, hotel rooms, cargo/shipping charges, taxes, cash in stuck stock(to get one candy cane at $x, I’d probably need to buy 10 or 20, if they don’t get sold, my capital is stuck in this leftover stock), time spent overseas working away from loved ones, time that could be spent doing advertorials/shoots that guarantee income for me, the money I pay monthly to the host server for KandyKayne’s abnormal traffic. SO many tangible AND intangible factors NONE of you see.

For this 1500 baht. Or SGD61.40. R U KIDDING ME???

BTW, I just clicked on the link he tweeted for the bread molds, it was the Winnie the Pooh breadcutter(found here on KandyKayne). His link says $5.00 WITHOUT shipping and doesn’t seem to have the Piglet breadcutter that the KandyKayne set, priced at $22, has. The rough estimate of 2 of these would come up to about $15 inclusive of shipping BUT it’s without the piglet mold AND you still gotta wait for it to get shipped from Korea. HARDLY THE SAME PRODUCT. Unless you are so truly blind/cheapskate/don’t mind waiting/can’t be fucked.

Again, if I were a giant online store(like *market), I could potentially sell at much less, cos of the sheer bulk I would have. As it is, my COST for these molds is MUCH higher than the selling price on this site(more than double, cross my heart.) Maybe cos of the quantity I take, more likely cos the ones I sell ARE MADE IN JAPAN, or maybe cos I’m just not that great a businesswoman(sarcasm intended).

All I know is, I put my whole heart into KandyKayne, personally sourcing out each item and counting the stock myself, to bring all the kawaii things I think you all will like to you. KandyKayne IS different from other blogstores; whether you agree or not means nothing to me. The profit margin is justifiable to me and no one else.

If you don’t trust my taste in style/quality, and you wanna shop somewhere else cos it’s cheaper, it’s FINE.

If you think the stuff on KandyKayne is too pricey, it’s FINE.

If you don’t care that I personally inspect and can vouch for each item, it’s FINE.

But if you’re a BLOGGER(has-been or otherwise) AND you troll on KandyKayne like this, it’s NOT FINE. FUCK YOU, JAYLEIF. I HOPE YOU SWALLOW THE SHIT YOU SPEW, YOU FUCKFACE.

You went onto kandykayne.com and/or my tweets, took my links AND images and tweeted them, then told your 1000+ followers to get cheaper, alternative(possibly inferior) versions of my products in BKK and *market(even tweeted the direct link) for cheaper, TWICE over THREE tweets and 1 reply LISTING MY .COM and you act all innocent and accused that I’m calling you a troll?? U MAD BRO?

Trolling is NOT defined by the number of words/tweets. It’s the repercussions of words, words that you KNEW were detrimental to me, words that you CHOSE to use against me. And this, asshole, is my fight back.

I am a bad girlfriend. No more le good girlfriend Derpina, even with my awesome bento-making capabilities.

Because I lied to my boyfriend.

The story goes like this:

If you’ve been following my tweets closely, you’d know he’s been sent overseas for work for 2 months and the distance and him being so damn busy have been taking a toll on me. I was tragically alone on Vday with my babyboys Yutaki and Eric. I love them to hell and back but it just isn’t the same as with a boyfriend, #ifyouknowwhatImean.

So I was alone and sad and was listening to emo songs on YouTube. Then I heard this song that made me think a lot about him. It’s a very old song, Light In Your Eyes by Blessid Union of Souls, super sad. And I wanted him to listen to it too.

So then I sent le bbf parts 1 & 2 of the video which I posted on Feecha(if you don’t have Feecha, you’d have seen them on Twitter). It’s really easy to trim the video if it’s too long into 2 parts, just move the cursor to where you want the clip to start/end and save as a separate file! OMG I’m damn shy to say. It’s literally the first singing video I’ve ever taken myself and posted on a public domain! Took 3 takes, chose the shortest one and split it into 2 videos to post on Feecha.

This post is about how I mad love the video-posting function on Feecha! I know Twitter can too but HELLO, the link itself takes up how many characters already?? Feecha has NO WORD LIMIT wtf.

How revolutionary is that??? No need to always think in 140 characters leh! I possess inexplicable hate for Twitter when I wanna RT a perfect quote (that I don’t wanna taint with my crass summarizing) and it’s more than 140 characters. Sian max.

With Feecha, you can Refeech a Feecha, just like RT-ing on Twitter BUT with no word limitations. Thank you Feecha, you are changing my freakin life right here.

There are just so many awesome features about Feecha I just can’t type fast enough. What sets it apart from Twitter imho, is the geographical tagging function. Meaning if you’re at KandyKayne retail at Bugis Village and you create a Feecha and tag yourself there, people shopping or eating in the vicinity can see your Feecha, and you can see theirs!

How this is so great is cos if someone posts a Feecha with text/pic/video saying “I Love Taimei has a new bubble tea flavour today!” or “Milly’s has a one-for-one promo on manis and pedis if you bring a friend!” or “Josh Hartnett spotted at Starbucks at Bugis Junction!”(What?? I cannot dream, is it??), YOU will be able to see all of these Feechas as long as you’re nearby! YAY to location-relevant news and updates in real time!!!

OR. Say if I’m having prata for supper or waffles at Upper Thomson and I post a Feecha tagging the pratashop/Wafflelicious, friends please no stalkers who are nearby can see my Feecha and come join me!!! I’d also be able to see Feechas from even random people I don’t follow if they’re near me! I can see what they say about the signature blueberry waffles from Wafflelicious and try them!

I can comment and ask questions and/or see other people’s comments regarding each Feecha, as they are all shown in the comments list just like a blogpost! So different from Twitter where I can only see conversations between specific people if I follow ALL of them or if I search for and click on each one; so tedious!

I can also LOVE people’s Feechas and they can LOVE mine too! Just click on the kawaii fat heart at the right of each Feecha to show your love! SO happy there’re no “Thumbs Up” buttons here; who the hell still uses thumbs up in real life now anyway???

And see the tags at the bottom of each Feecha? You can follow “interests” or get people to view your Feechas JUST BY THESE TAGS! Guess what I follow(should be quite easy right??) and tag your Feechas with them so I’ll see your Feechas in my timeline!

You can also zoom in and out of the map in Feecha to see the posts near you! The BIGGER and REDDER the Feechas and the more EYES they have, the more interesting they are!!! (The big ones here are mine I think LOL. 4am alr, most people sleeping la hahaha.) The boring “Ok I’m going to bed now” ones are small and grey and got a sleepy eye wtf! HOW CUTE IS THAT???

Used the leftover part of the cheese to put on a slice of bread, it’s epic cute, like “You are the missing piece in my life.” Aww ttm!

These breadcutters make super sharp and distinct shapes even on wholemeal bread which is kinda more holey than normal bread. Look how Dorami-chan even has such long lashes!!!

Super sweet Winnie the Pooh and Piglet! Idk why but I keep wanting to eat these with hunny! Hahaha
